    Here's a tribute by no fewer than 650 officers and men of the 'Auxiliary Remount Depot 326' in the first world war paying tribute to the eight million horses that were lost during the campaign. Very special - we just cannot imagine how so many horses were used - and lost - during WW1 can we?

    That is very cool...I did a double take when I read the number of horses lost...that's a huge number!

        That's an incredible number of horses lost. But, they were used for everything back then and the way to stop an army was to stop the transportation system. Really sad.
