Default Angel & Juliet - Heat

    It's been a while since I've posted.

Angel & Juliet are doing great! Juliet has started to go into heat (it's so cute when her ears wiggle, lol). Angel has not started yet.. Why is this?

Hi -- welcome back! You'll have to refresh our memories, I think. Are they the same age? Probably like humans, all ratties are different.

Yes, I'm pretty sure they're sisters.

It's actually better if they are spayed before their first heat, it reduces their chances of breast cancer. I had three sisters and back then they wouldn't spay before they were 6 months of age and I had them all scheduled right when they were 6 months, the day of the spaying one of them went into heat. It cost a little more to spay her but they did make their surgery date.

I wish I could get them spayed, but I just do not have that kind of money. I pretty much live paycheck to paycheck.

Can you ask the vet if you can work off the cost doing office work? Just a thought.
