Winston's Kitten Journal - page 3
01/23/10
Six cents and a mouse.
That's what I left in Mommie's shoe this morning. I thought it was really generous, but Mommie didn't appreciate it the way I thought she would. Then she hollered at Daddie about leaving change where I could get it. Doesn't she want me to have any money at all?? And the mouse was a bright orange one with the tail chewed off. (one of my favorites)
I helped Mommie cook steak and onions tonight. I've heard from the other kitties that Mommie is pretty helpless, and I feel sorry for her, so I do everything I can to help her. I even help with the dishes! I climb right into the dishwasher and lick the dishes when Mommie puts them in there. For some reason, she still runs the dishwasher even after I have done all that cleaning for her. I can see why she needs a lot of help!
I thought Mommie looked cold last night, so I climbed up and laid right down on top of her face to warm her up. She moved and made me roll onto the pillow, so I went to the bother to get back up on her face to warm her up, and she put me right back on the pillow!
Do humans ever learn to appreciate all the help we kittens give them?

I still don't understand what happened yesterday. The other kitties here are still disgusted with me for some reason.
I heard them talking yesterday, and they were all excited because they found a mouse in the kitchen. Yea, so what? It's just a toy that moves all by itself. Just because I didn't catch it and jumped on Mona when she did....they think I'm not very bright. I could catch me a mouse anytime I want to! There are pink ones, blue ones, and green ones over there on my scratching post.
And what's with stuff hanging on walls way up high where you can't see it? Mommie has these things called "paintings" hanging on the walls, and I ran up the wall to see what one was. I was just trying to appreciate art up close, but she yelled at me and told me I couldn't knock....er....take it down to appreciate it.
And why does Mommie laugh at my belly when I am nice and full of chow and say it looks like I am expecting a litter? Why would I expect litter in my belly? I expect litter to be in my litter box. I'm not supposed to eat litter, am I? (yuck)

NOT A TOY!
Also, NOT CHOW, so you have my blessing to jump on Mona if she ever tries to catch me.

Mommie woke up with something called a "migraine" and couldn't get rid of it in time to go to work, so she called in sick. I got to spend all morning in bed with her, trying my best to sleep on her face! Then I got up when she did and she gave me a can of tuna and egg! YUM!
One of the nurses that comes out to help take care of Grampee said I was "all legs". Huh? I have a head and a tail and paws and fur. Am I invisible except for my legs???
Mommie bought me a toy this past weekend. It is a ring-shaped toy with holes in the top, and there's a ball stuck inside....plus there is another ball stuck in the side, with just slots to reach inside. No matter how hard I try, I can't get those jingle balls out! Why would Mommie buy me a defective toy like that? I tried for almost 2 hours last night, and both of those jingle balls are still stuck in it. The other kitties are no help at all....they just walk by, laughing at me! I gotta figure out a new strategy!
