Diabetic kitties

My Puckett has now been a diabetic kitty for 4 weeks and is doing amazingly well. He's still not letting me test him as he hates having his ears messed with but I'm rubbing his ears every chance I get to try and get him more comfortable with the idea. He's now gotten to the point where I put him on the counter and put a jar of baby food in front of him and I can give him his insulin injection without holding him. He's doing remarkably well and I stay in close contact with my vet and she's told me that as long as he's doing so well I can take my time getting him used to everything slowly.

What I'm challenged with now is finding the best possible prices on the insulin syringes.... [Read More]

Spring time

The spring bulbs are now coming up. These are snowdrops, and there are a few anemone (windflowers) around. There are only tiny patches of snow, other than some of the mounds by the street and they are going fast.

Not that I wanted to know how to do that. It's one of those things that you figure "well, if I gotta".

Tilly hadn't really bounced back very much from her illness last week - every few days, she seemed to be puking again. At first, I thought it was the treats we were feeding her after dinner, sweet potato chewies, so I tossed them, then we had a couple of instances of her puking at night, long after I would have expected from an upset stomach. She also seemed very lethargic - staring into space until you touch her to get her attention. So we went to the vet tonight.
